Ask and ye shall receive.
A short comic I drafted on the early French Revolution. Yes, I know Corday didn't kill Marat until 1793, and yes, I know that Robespierre wasn't so into justice when he was chopping off heads during the Reign of Terror, but this is before all that, when Robespierre was still pretty cool and Marat was still batshit crazy.
Enjoy the comparison. I sure do.
Okay, so basically, Maximilien Robespierre was one of the initial leaders who took power a little ways into the Revolution. He started out preaching Enlightenment ideals like "liberty, equality, fraternity," liked justice, and denounced the death penalty (he'd later have a change of heart and send thousands to die). He also wore powdered wigs and therefore looked like a priss, and he was known as the Great Orator and The Incorruptible.
The other guy is Jean-Paul Marat. He's in a bathtub because he had some kind of skin condition so he had to soak in this medicinal bath like ALL THE TIME. He printed this newspaper called "The Friend of the People" and pretty much said, "FUCK JUSTICE, LET'S CHOP OFF SOME HEADS!" The girl at the bottom, Charlotte Corday, eventually killed him to shut him up.
And then they made him a martyr. Oh, irony.

Amo maximilien. Embora ele tenha mandado pessoas a guilhotina ainda sim eu nao consigo vêr maldade sempre que vejo uma foto dele . É imposivel para mim o ver com maus olhos.
